An Urban Nerd Video Episode: The Daily Show & Clinton Street Baking Co.

My good friend, VJ aka DJ Insomnia invited me to go to the April 4th taping of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Unfortunately, going through security there was like the airport, and they were on us like vultures if we took pictures or video recorded anything of the set (I have no clue why). I did catch a blurry picture, but I also did get caught and got in trouble. Surprisingly, they didn’t do anything, and I got to sit through the taping.

Afterwards, we went to the famous Clinton Street Baking Co. – they’re really known for their pancakes, and they were featured on the Food Network not so long ago. Pretty fun-packed day!

An Urban Nerd Video Episode: The 2011 NYC Veggie Food Festival

I decided to go to the NYC Veggie Food Festival on April 3rd (www.nycvegfoodfest.com), and make it into an experience….an adventure for my taste buds…..try something daring……go somewhere I’ve never been before…….East 18th Street….I’ve never been to E. 18th Street. =P Also, I’ve never posted a video that was almost 30 minutes long…there was soooo much footage, I just had to make it a longer video.

Well, there’s more footage of the “waiting in line” on Ustream (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-urban-nerd-effect), also because I decided to Ustream, my actual HD camera died – so I had to use someone else’s phone to get the footage, reason why the video and audio quality is not up to par, BUUUUUTTT it did the job.

If you were wondering where Omar Mirza is at…..well he flaked out….but you don’t need him..you have me!! =)

Convey: D’angelo-Africa (Ebrahim ft. Aaron Hardin)

A fellow Convey supporter and musician, Ebrahim, in my opinion, has got to be one of the best R&B/Soul artists I have ever heard. This musician has vocals and talent that would amaze anyone.

I’ve always been one of the supporters of Ebrahim by watching him through his YouTube videos, and sharing these videos to friends I know that would enjoy them. And it amazed everyone at Convey, including myself, to know that the support was reciprocated. When launching out the “Pakistan IS Flooding” shirts, he purchased a couple of them and they can be seen in this posted music video.

Be sure to check out his other videos. He is extremely talented, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy them.

Convey for Japan: Earthquake and Tsunami Relief

I was happy to be part of the design team by giving input to my good friends at Convey for the new Japan T-shirt releasing April 8th, 2011. Just like last time with the “Pakistan Is Flooding T-shirt”, 100% of the proceeds from the T-shirt sales will directly go to Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Projects in Japan.

Once again, you can get show your support by buying the T-shirt on April 8th at www.ConveyYourMessage.com.

One of my Sources of Inspiration – Narayanan Krishnan

Whenever I get stressed or feel like that I have so many dilemmas that I’m trying to resolve – I turn to this video. After watching it a couple of times on repeat, MAJORITY of my problems tend to go away, and it gives me a reality check on what REAL issues are.

This video, this person, Narayanan Krishnan, is a true source of inspiration – that drives me to become a better person everyday. Usually people’s response would be, “We need more people like him in the world.” My response to that is, why can’t we be those people that are like him in this world. We should strive to be more like Narayanan and become the answer.

Hopefully this video will inspire you like it inspires me.
